Are you really `saved`? Are you sure you're in a right relationship with Him? Do you even know what you believe?
These are important questions since Yahshua (Jesus) warned, “Not every one that says to me, Lord, Lord shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he that does the will of my Father which is in heaven.” (Matt 7:21)
You see, being 'saved' is much more than a simple confession of faith in the person of Yahshua. It requires we believe Him enough to do what He says! And He commands us to “Repent and believe the gospel.” (Mark 1:15)
The question is, will you “repent and turn to God and do the works that demonstrate repentance”? (Acts 26:20)
For “What does it profit…if a man says he has faith but not works? Can faith save him? Faith, if it has not works, is dead, being alone…A man may say ‘You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without your works and I will show you my faith by my works…You believe there is one God; you do well: the devils also believe and tremble.” (James 2:16-19)
James continues, “You see…his faith and his actions were working together and his faith was made complete by what he did. You see, a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone.” (James 2:22-24)
Yahshua said, “You shall know them by their fruits.” (Matt 7:16) Why? Because if we believe, we will put our beliefs into action and do what He says because we are utterly convinced he knows what is best for us. What is the fruit or evidence of our faith? “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” (John 14:15)
These are tough words, but there is just no other way! Nor any easier path!
Have you truly repented? Are you really living according to His Word? Do you actually believe His Word?
“Then Yahshua said to his disciples, ‘If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself…take up his cross and follow me.” (Matt 16:24)
Are you really willing to give up your own will and do the will of our Heavenly Father? Are you willing to completely change your thinking, attitudes and life and start truly following Him?
“Yahshua came…preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, saying, ‘The time is fulfilled and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent and believe in the gospel.” (Mark 1:14-15)
Which gospel was He referring to that we must believe? The only gospel! “The gospel of the kingdom of God.” This is the true gospel which is taught and prophesied throughout the Old and New Testaments. Christ spent most of His ministry on earth preaching this gospel and only this gospel.
“And Yahshua went about all the cities and villages…preaching the gospel of the kingdom...” (Matt 9:35)
Do you believe the good news concerning the Kingdom of God? Do you know what the good news was? Do you even know what the kingdom of God is?
The Bible teaches the kingdom of God is not the church; it’s not a future kingdom; it’s not in heaven nor is it something in your heart. It teaches it is a real “nation and a company of nations” already on this earth just as promised!
Do you know Yahweh’s true plan and purpose? Do you know yours? Does it even matter?
Whatever He requires of us, there is always a reason for it. The reason so many fail is because they are unable to see His purpose; their true reason for being and therefore have no real incentive to truly repent and believe. Thinking they’re ‘saved’, they are misled into believing they have obtained the ‘grand prize’ of eternal life and ‘access’ into ‘Heaven’.
Thinking they’re going to ‘Heaven’ and getting the same reward no matter how they choose to live their lives, they mistakenly believe it no longer matters how they live their lives. Being blinded to the truth and their real purpose, they become confused and dissatisfied and end up trying to find meaning in the things that never bring true or lasting happiness.
Sadly, we have been too taken up with childish theories about heaven and mansions in the sky to see the true purpose of God. Yahshua is coming again to restore this earth back to what it was meant to be from the very beginning and to “rule over the House of Jacob” and eventually all the peoples and nations of this world. (Rev 11:15)
The truth is we’re not going to ‘heaven’. He is preparing those who truly repent, believe and overcome to rule with Him on this earth!
Through sufferings, tribulations, sickness, death and the trials of life, we are eventually to become fit and equipped for the rulership which God ordained in the beginning (Gen 1:26). Only when we see this instead of fairy tales will we have some incentive to truly repent, believe and strive for the reward awaiting those who overcome.
Since God has destined us to rule over His creation, wouldn’t He prepare and test us to ensure we were fit for that rulership? How could we ever expect to rule with Him if we can’t even rule ourselves? What if we had never been able to control our own sinful nature, nor resist the ways of this world? How could we ever lead, teach and help others to follow His ways when He comes if we had never repented and followed them ourselves!
No, only if we are able to overcome our own sinful nature and instead do what is right and good will we ever be fit to rule with Christ!
Are you ready? Have you truly repented yet? Do you really believe in Him? Enough to do what He says whatever the cost? Do you love Him with all your heart, mind, soul and strength? Is your faith backed up by your words and actions? Are you striving to overcome every sin, weakness and obstacle in your life?
Don’t wait for tomorrow, for it may never come! Whatever the cost. Whatever the sacrifice. It is all worth it! For the prize set before us if we truly ‘overcome’ is far greater than anything we can imagine.
Yahweh promises “no eye hath seen…no ear has heard…no human mind has conceived…the things God has prepared for those who love Him.” (1 Cor 2:9)
Whatever He has for us, it must be incredible and beyond our wildest dreams! That’s why Paul wrote “Not that I have already attained or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ has also laid hold of me. I do not hold myself apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those which are ahead. I press towards the goal for the prize.” (Phil 3:12-14)
Again, “Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown. Therefore, I run…not with uncertainty…I fight…I discipline my body and bring it to subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.” (1 Cor 9:24-26)
Are you running your race to win the prize? He is coming again…no one knows the day or the hour! “Repent and believe” today. For tomorrow may never come!
“To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat with My Father on His throne.” (Rev 3:21)
“To the one who overcomes and does My will to the end, I will give authority over the nations.” (Rev 2:26)
The prize is set before us. What will you chose?
